Spam protection (layered, no CAPTCHA required for a form this size)

Honeypot field, a hidden field invisible to human users but visible to bots, built into WPForms Lite by default; any submission with that field filled is silently discarded.

2. Time-based submission check. WPForms Lite's built-in check rejects submissions completed implausibly fast (faster than a human could realistically fill the form), a common bot signature. 3. Server-side rate limiting. Cap submissions per IP address per hour at the hosting/firewall level, to blunt any automated flood that gets past the above.

This three-layer approach avoids a visible CAPTCHA, which meaningfully hurts completion rates and accessibility, while still filtering the overwhelming majority of automated spam. If spam volume becomes a real problem post-launch, a lightweight invisible CAPTCHA (like an accessible reCAPTCHA v3, which scores requests without an interactive challenge) is the next escalation step. See the post-launch plan in `06-launch-checklist.md` for how we'd revisit this.

Where submissions go

Form submissions route to the editorial team's shared inbox, with automatic routing by the Subject dropdown: correction requests go to a priority queue reviewed daily per our Corrections Policy; advertising and press inquiries route separately from editorial tips, keeping commercial inquiries clearly separate from editorial correspondence.
